Shale soils. Made with grapes from Quinta do Cabido, a family estate named for its location, an inhospitable "hook" formed by the Teja stream, in the parish of Numão, in a mountainous area about 300-400m above sea level, descending to Vesúvio, on the south bank of the Douro River, 3km away. A blend of traditional Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, and Tinta Barroca.
